Republican Elephant Groom's Cake

With all the new Republican candidates throwing their hats in (and out) of the ring these days, this cake cake seemed very appropriate for today's post.

I did this groom's cake for this past weekend's wedding at the Filhauer Lake House.

It's hard to tell from his photo, but this cake was huge!  It's on a 20x20 board and it was carrot cake with cream cheese icing so it was REALLY heavy!

The cutouts for this thing were so big that we decided to forgo the Cricut Cake and just cut them by hand.

Once we had it together I felt it needed a little something extra so I took the leftover modeling chocolate and made a red and blue twisted rope and some stars to fill out the cake board.
